The Mettenberg tennis court is a beautiful tennis court on the valley floor of Grindelwald. Directly at the foot of the Mettenberg, the course is well situated and offers a beautiful view of the mountains. Whether professional or beginner, everyone is welcome at the tennis court.
Location:
The tennis courts are a good 20 minutes’ walk from the village centre. The Mettenberg tennis court is also very well served by Grindelwald Bus. Depending on the timetable, the bus runs to the tennis courts every 15-30 minutes. If you stay overnight with us in Chalet Anemone, you have about 20 minutes to the tennis court. By car it is about 5 minutes drive from the village centre. At the tennis court there are enough free parking spaces available, but these are only for tennis players. While playing tennis you can enjoy a beautiful view of the surrounding mountains like the Eiger or the Wetterhorn. You also have a beautiful view upwards towards the village of Grindelwald.
Play:
There are 4 free standing sand courts at your disposal. The Mettenberg tennis court is accessible to everyone, no matter how well you play. One hour court rental costs CHF 24.00 and does not include tennis equipment. It’s best to bring your own tennis equipment. Or you can also rent the equipment from the tennis club, but only on request. Besides the “normal” tennis games you can also participate in the weekly guest tournaments. These tournaments are only offered in summer and require registration via the website. In addition to the “normal” games, tennis lessons are also offered. Please contact the Grindelwald Tennis Club directly, they will definitely find the right coach for you.
Due to the flowing river Lütschine next to the court, you will be accompanied by the sound of water while playing tennis.
