It’s snowing in the Bernese Oberland, the first snowfall in Grindelwald. The start of the winter season 2021/2022. And the current cold is excellent for a good foundation to be formed on the ski slopes. The slopes on Männlichen are already covered with snow at night, so that the start of the season can be guaranteed at the beginning of December.

Have you already booked your winter vacations in Grindelwald? Grindelwald and the Jungfrau Ski Region are also offering some special highlights in the coming winter season:  The special Advent market in the middle of the village, the 39th World Snow Festival in January, the Velogemel World Championship in February 2022 and the SnowpenAir concert on March 26 with Helene Fischer and other top acts. The Jungfrau Region is a place where numerous games, events and functions are held. The range is wide: musical, cultural, traditional and sporting events adorn the calendar year.

In Grindelwald you can enjoy wonderful winter hiking, cross-country skiing and sledding. Sledding in the snowy winter landscape is pure action, it requires no special knowledge or much practice and is great fun for young and old. However, as with any other winter sport, sledding requires good equipment that keeps you warm. It is advisable to wear waterproof shoes with a good tread for plenty of grip, warm and also waterproof clothing, gloves and headgear. Exemplary is who also wears a helmet when sledding. Especially (but not only!) when sledding with children, it is actually mandatory to protect yourself with a (ski) helmet. This way, the winter fun on the up to 15 km long toboggan runs in the Grindelwald mountain world is even greater!

And what else is a must for sledging in the Jungfrau Region? The magic of the huts, of course! Many rustic huts invite you to warm up, drink tea and have a fondue next to the toboggan runs.
