Interlaken – The famous holiday resort between Lake Brienz and Lake Thun. Known as a holiday destination for the middle and upper classes, the community is a wonderful place for relaxation and experiences. Interlaken can be reached within 2 hours from the two major airports of Zurich and Geneva. Flat and very well connected to the Jungfrau destination of Grindelwald, Wengen and Lauterbrunnen. But also Meiringen and the associated ski areas of Hasliberg and Haslital. In the summer and winter months, this offers perfect adventure destinations such as the Jungfraujoch, Harder or the Schilthorn.
Another feature of Interlaken, of course, is the view of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau. Due to its proximity to the mountains, Interlaken is characterised by the fresh alpine air and the many explorers. Even though Interlaken is not necessarily located in the mountains, you can already feel a lot of the climate, such as the healthy and fresh air.
But also the water in the lakes shines turquoise or blue with some sunshine. The water in the lakes comes exclusively from the surrounding mountains and then goes into the Aare and finally into the Rhine, where it is distributed to other rivers. By the way, the lakes are also suitable for swimming, in summer the lakes can get up to 20 degrees. But this also varies for the winter and clearly for the weather.
All in all, one can say that Interlaken is the perfect place for people who do not want to spend their holidays directly in the mountains. But nevertheless for a day trip good and fast to get into the mountains. Interlaken also has many leisure activities to offer and of course a large shopping variety.
