Lucerne – the beautiful city with many old buildings at the blue Vierwaldstädtersee.
Lucerne is one of the most beautiful cities in Switzerland and is best known for its Kapellbrücke bridge. The bridge can also be seen in the picture. The Swiss city is very rich in sights and also perfectly accessible by train. A very good tip is to arrive in the morning. The air is still cool, there is still little activity and you can really enjoy the time. Best with a hot coffee and a croissant. Then sit on a bench and watch the swans or ducks swim. From Grindelwald, train station Lucerne can be reached in about 2h 38min by train. Estimated by car about 2h. But not only the many sights make the old town a good destination for excursions. Also the Verkehrshaus is a great place. From young to old and for each Person something is to be seen. Among other things there are also different simulators which one can try out. For example the jet simulator, with which you can do loops.
Basically you can say that Lucerne is perfect for an excursion. We recommend a trip in the low season, as there are not as many tourists as in the high season.
