Beatenberg is not far from Grindelwald and yet in a different world. If there are too many tourists in Grindelwald for you, it is worth making a detour to Beatenberg. Far away from all the hustle and bustle, the longest village in the Bernese Oberland surprises with its breathtaking view of the Eiger, Jungfrau and Mönch. The view down to Lake Thun, which is presented in beautiful blue, will also put you in a holiday mood.

If you want to enjoy the view even more, you can take the train from Beatenberg to the Niederhorn. There are various wonderful opportunities for hiking. At the Vorsass middle station, you can hire scooters. Enjoy the rapid descent to the valley station on scooters and enjoy the wonderful view.
Erich von Däniken
Beatenberg is the residence of Erich von Däniken. A path has been dedicated to the bestselling author, where you will learn a lot about him and the UFOs. The trail begins at the Niederhorn valley station and leads for an hour through meadows and woods to the Wydi car park.

A beautiful path leads through woods and meadows past a castle, a ship and a dragon.
