23 Feb First Cliff Walk by Tissot
The First Cliff Walk by Tissot on the First. A must on a trip to Grindelwald and nothing for people with fear of heights.
Every day you can enjoy the wonderful view of Grindelwald and the surrounding mountains such as the Wetterhorn, Eiger or Mättenberg from the First Cliff Walk. The circular trail leads over an ascending spiral, a 40-metre long single-rope suspension bridge and through the highlight, the 45-metre long viewing platform. The viewing platform does not protrude beyond anything and has a transparent base plate.
There is also access to the sun terrace of the First mountain inn. One can only recommend the visit! Standing on the footbridge, enjoying the view of Grindelwald and the mountains and the fresh mountain air. That is unique. And when you walk on the footbridge you can look down through the holes in the floor grid. The feeling of weightlessness will come up very quickly!
Arrival
First Cliff Walk can be reached by the First cable car. The cable car starts in the Grindelwald village and goes via 2 stations directly to the First. The journey takes on average 25 minutes. As a Chalet Anemone guest you have a quick and easy journey. You only have to walk down the Guggengasse and at the first contact with the Dorfstrasse, at the top right, is the top station. If you are not a Chalet Anemone Guest (we recommend the first option!) you will find parking spaces directly at the Sunstar Hotel and from there it is a 3 minute walk to the top station
At the top you have a 5 minute walk ahead of you. With or without a coffee stop at the mountain inn First. The First Cliff Walk is free of charge. After the beautiful experience we recommend you to have coffee at Adi’s Skibar. Learn more about the beautiful ski bar here.
