A major project in Grindelwald was completed in autumn 2020, the V-Bahn and the associated Grindelwald Terminal at the bottom. A huge railway station with train and bus stops. It also has a huge adjacent multi-storey car park with over 1000 parking spaces. So now in Grindelwald you benefit from a shorter time to get to the beautiful Kleine Scheidegg. As an international guest you have an immense travel gain of 47 minutes to get to the ski slopes.
V-Bahn – Starting point Grindelwald Terminal
The new terminal is the starting point of the V-Bahn. A project in the tradition of the visionary pioneering achievements in the construction of the Jungfrau Railway 1896-1912 until December 2020. Probably also one of the most innovative and exciting construction projects in the Alps today. Among other things, there are world firsts such as the first stacker that loads the gondolas with cargo by computer or a Platinum Lounge, which is designed to resemble today’s airports. New shopping facilities in Grindelwald
The new Grindelwald Terminal gives you the opportunity to go shopping directly after skiing in one of the countless shops. In addition to a Coop, there is a Kirchhofer with watches and also a Lindt shop for sweet treats. You can also rent skis and the corresponding equipment at Intersport in the terminal and check out Dr. Portmann for sun cream. And you can buy the right outfit at Buri Fashion & Design, highly recommended. The terminal has just about everything you need for your stay in Grindelwald.
Way to the Grindelwald Terminal
From our holiday flat in Grindelwald you can reach the new terminal relatively quickly. By bus from Kirchbühl or Bodmi you are there in about 20 minutes. By car in about 10 minutes. From Interlaken we recommend arriving by train. From Interlaken Ost there is a half-hourly train to Grindelwald with a stop at the terminal.
